General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer

gwaddell@eversourcewa.com

As general counsel, head of enterprise risk, and chief compliance officer, Glenn holds executive-level oversight for all EverSource legal matters. He develops strategic plans, implements and administers policies, and acts as liaison with regulatory authorities.

Before joining EverSource, Glenn was most recently president of Birmingham Theological Seminary where he served for 11 years. Prior to his time at BTS, he practiced law for more than 15 years with two leading Alabama law firms and served as the regional director for Peacemaker Ministries. Glenn practiced general business law, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution as a member of Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff and Brandt, LLC.  As a partner with Balch & Bingham, LLP, he focused on environmental law, public policy, and governmental affairs. Glenn’s law practice has also involved regulatory work in the securities industry related to the establishment and compliance of broker-dealers, insurance agencies, and registered investment advisory firms.

Glenn teaches as an adjunct professor at Cumberland School of Law and has been published in Alabama Lawyer, Cumberland Law Review, and Alabama Law Review. He has served as general counsel for The King’s Home and as a certified Christian conciliator for the Institute for Christian Conciliation. As a law student at The University of Alabama, Glenn was awarded a School of Law Juris Doctor Scholarship and selected as senior editor of the Alabama Law Review.

Glenn is a ruling elder at Briarwood Presbyterian Church and has served as moderator for Evangel Presbytery. A resident of the Birmingham area for more than 25 years, Glenn and his wife Mary Ann, are parents of four children.  He aspires to be an ultra-marathoner, but generally only makes about three miles.  On the positive side, that leaves him enough time to enjoy another biography or a game with his family.
